Community Clinics
Overview
BHDF's Community Clinics program brings frontline healthcare to remote and conflict-affected communities that are far from formal facilities. We provide medicine, medical supplies, and healthcare professionals to clinics across the Mutraw Districts, serving communities with no access to formal hospitals or health facilities.
The objective is continuity of primary care for families who would otherwise delay treatment until illness becomes severe. Rounds are coordinated with local health workers to maximize reach and follow-up.
Supported Clinics
BHDF currently provides medicine, medical supplies, and HR support to multiple community health posts and clinics situated throughout hard-to-reach conflict-affected regions. By ensuring these facilities stay stocked and staffed, we help maintain essential care lifelines for vulnerable populations.
- Primary healthcare assessment and treatment for common conditions
- Maternal and child health support, including antenatal follow-up
- Essential medicine and clinical supply distribution
- Referral of complicated cases to higher-level facilities
- On-site mentoring for community and clinic-based health workers
Field Logistics
Reaching service locations can involve long travel times, difficult terrain, river crossings, and rapidly changing security conditions. Teams plan routes carefully and adapt delivery schedules so critical services continue with minimal interruption.
Support to Local Health Workers
Routine visits also strengthen local capacity through practical coaching in case management, triage, record keeping, and medicine use. This helps maintain care quality between outreach visits.
